As a pre-teen I had a traumatic experience with an Dental procedure that caused me to be extremely fearful of going to the Dentist, I knew I needed to go but just couldn't bring myself to make an appointment. About 5 years ago I met Yvonne Plott, who works in the office at Carolina Smiles and she told me what a gentle Dentist Dr. Davis was. I remember grilling her as I tried to become brave enough to make a much needed appointment. Shortly after speaking with Yvonne I dialed the number with fear and trembling and it wasn't long before I was seated in the "The Chair". I was concerned that I would be chastised for having put off dental care for so long and was pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful and caring way Dr. Davis and Lisa, his assistant dealt with me. It was a relief actually because I'd beaten myself up plenty of times and didn't need to be scolded further. I remember that first day...scared out of my mind from fear. The demeanor of everyone in the office was so loving and accepting that by the time I left the office, although afraid of what was yet to come, I felt that I had found the right Dentist that would fit my needs. I even remember writing on the information sheet CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK because I wanted them to know I truly was a chicken. During all my procedures Dr. Davis and the staff made sure I was totally comfortable at all times and their concern was genuine. I could hardly believe the gentleness of Dr. Davis during the procedures from beginning to the end. We even had a lot of laughs just as if we were all at a family gathering. My husband, who was I discovered, more fearful than even I was saw how happy I was with Dr. Davis and was so impressed with my new beautiful smile he made an appointment and now has a beautiful smile too. We both can't say enough good about Carolina Smiles, If anyone reading this is afraid of going to the Dentist you can put away that fear....make that call today and get started on a wonderful future of SMILES. The Dentist Dr. Davis is a caring dentist. He takes his time explaining things and makes sure the patient is comfortable at all times. He is a comedian sometimes, but an overall great guy. His staff is great as well. They work with you in trying to help with your insurance or whatever is necessary. I once had a crown pop off on a Sunday afternoon and I knew if I ate anything hard it would shatter my tooth. He came into the office and replaced my crown on this Sunday afternoon. Not many Doctors would do this, so that means alot. He wants to be there for his patients. I have been a patient at this office since 1990............ As a child I was terrified of going to the dentist. I kept that feeling of fear into my adult years. We moved to North Carolina and were fortunate to find Dr. Davis. The entire staff is awesome. I had to have a crown put on and I never felt any pain (that's very important to me!). Our daughter also used to dread Dentist appointments but doesn't mind going at all now. They let me know everything they'll be doing so I'm never anxious during visits. They are all genuine people and care about what's going on in our lives. I have been coming to see Dr. Davis for about three years, now. It started as an emergency visit for a cracked tooth ( I was unable to find anyone closer to home to help me). What a stroke of luck that my urgent need led me to the finest dental practice I have found in all of my experience ( 65 + years). In my childhood, a trip to the dentists' office was an experience to dread. While the situation has improved over the years, dental visits have never been pleasant. Today, however, it is almost a pleasure walking into Carolina Smiles ( I never thought I'd say that!). Everyone in the practice ( Doctor, his dental assistants and office staff) are thoroughly competent, professional, informative and very friendly. The quality of their work is outstanding, and I would recommend them to anyone (my wife is now a patient also). I trust them, and for that reason, I decided to initiate an extensive and long deferred course of treatment. That treatment is not yet complete, but the results so far are very good and I am looking forward to seeing the final product. Moving from an urban area in the northeastern part of the country to a rural area of the south, I was apprehensive about finding quality medical and dental care. My name is Wendy Anderson and I am thirty one years old. I have been going to Dr. Davis for as long as I can remember. Indeed, he actually pulled some of my baby teeth. My mother and daughter are also long time patients. In addition to regular cleanings every six month, I have had my wisdom teeth pulled, two small fillings, two crowns, and a crown lengthening. I am very satisifed with the dental care I have recivied at Carolina Smiles Dentistry. I would estimate that roughly half the people I know dread and avoid going to the dentist for anything at all. Some of these people, I know, have had bad experiences with a dentist when they were young which, I believe, resulted in dislike and fear of all things dental. I sometimes get strange looks when I say to someone, " I love going to the dentist." As I said, I have been a patient of Dr. Davis since I had baby teeth, and I've never had a scary or terribly painful experince. I continue to go for cleanings every six months and my teeth are in excellent condition. Quality dental care isn't the only thing I appreciate about my dentist and his staff. When I go for my bi-annual appointments, it's like visiting old friends. I mean these people have known me my whole life and we always spend a little time catching up. Not only do they care about my teeth, they also care about how my life has been going.
